Hyena Me BABY!

I always vote for the underdogs... don't you? The underdogs are missing from the Tribe at Spirit Hoods. In the Spirit Hood world there are leopards, wolves, lions, bears, cousin of wolves, even a night hawk (who is by the way no way an under dog), and other large mammals. These animals already have established themselves in the whole scheme of the Spirit Hood and animal world. They are praised, "Oh how cute" or "Oh how robust that big guy is" or "Wow what an ANIMAL"...

I feel, as does my best friend that in order to create a more balanced operation the Tribe is in need of something more than an overzealous animal who knows that their shit don't stink. The Tribe needs a Spirit Animal that has some insecurities, that is silly, crazy, even wilder than their counterparts.

The Tribe NEEDS the HYENA!

Now, I've posted on Spirit Hoods Facebook page and have some responses but it was not enough to get the creators, the men of Spirit Hoods, the el jefa's to really respond and be in agreement with the one's that think the Hyena is a good idea. Click here ... like the page, love the product, and vote YES for the Hyena! Come on... Phaleaseeeeeeee

Here's a scenario, put yourself in this situation and your best friend, or a friend, a sister, your brother, your mom, your sibling, whoever:::::

This signifies me and my best friend, Roma to a capital T!!! We crack up all the time, we are insane, well... she says I am crazy, but I concur that she is on the crazy path too.

The Hyena is perfect for the ever growing Tribe.

Stripes:::

Rosettes:::

Faux Hawks:::

The possibilities are endless, these will be epic and you all know this.

EXACTLY

So let's hear it... who here reading this would LOVE to have a Hyena Spirit Hood? I know I freaking do. In fact I would want a couple, one for me and one for my fantastic best friend.

I, The Smart Red Fox, hereby vote AYE for the production of the Hyena. Underdog... I say NAY! We will create a pack that will be insane compared to the proud and mighty wolf pack. We laugh, we don't howl. Ha Ha! We laugh in the face of danger.

There is a History in All Men's Lives - William Shakespeare

So my first week has been completed at grad school. I will say that my brain is deactivating already. Each course I am taking requires so much of my brain that I am not sure that I can equally disperse it. The first course requires me to read 12 books and then write papers for each reading and compose a chapter in my professors book that he is publishing in the Fall of this year. No pressure - right? The next course I stumbled into... I thought I was going to learn how to edit historical publications in general for museums, journals, publications, etc. Well, the class does teach the fundamentals but I am now an editor of the college's award winning history journal. With deadlines each week, oh and I was told that they have won every year for 24 years and want to take another victory this year to make it 25. No pressure - right? The last course I am taking was supposed to teach the fundamentals of public history, how the public views exhibits, etc... now I am helping with the exhibition of a museum that is to open the second week of April. Not only will we create the exhibit but we will be featured in multiple publications throughout the OC. No pressure - right?

I had no idea that graduate school was basically volunteer work. In essence it is, although I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious college and be a part of a publication, journal, and museum exhibit. I am just overwhelmed by the amount of work that lies ahead of me and the fact that I will quite possibly be THIS busy for the remainder of the year gives me anxiety attacks. I have a 2 1/2 month break in the summer and I intend to use it to the max! I AM going to Macedonia first, I was informed that funding is available for graduate students for RESEARCH and dammit it is research! LOL! Then I will fly to Australia... as soon as I come home I will be back in school. Back in action!

I'm tired, but I must continue to read. Shhhhhhhh... someone please tell me why I want a Masters Degree?

Good Day Darlings...

Good Evening or Good Morning whatever time of the day it is where you beautiful people live. I've had so much to discuss but my brain was turned off these past few weeks, my apologies...

First up:

BANANAS... I used to loathe bananas. They were gross to look at, has this weird consistency like mushy mashed potatoes. UNTIL I ate an organic banana. WOAH this was an amazing experience, one in which I eat two a day. Forget an apple a day, which I do, but I will eat two bananas during the course of the day. For the potassium and because they are so damn tasty. Holla it out loud with me:::: Banana! Big ups to bananas.

Next, I would really like to discuss Stella and Apple Cider...

WOWZA... this drink concoction that I accidentally stumbled upon is outstanding! It's like a fizzy, apple-like, beer that packs a punch after three. Well at least it does to me, I'm a light weight. Think about frothy, fruity, a little bitter,... MMMM MMM MM! That's right, it's so good.

The classic movie, Nacho Libre. One word: FANTASTIC. Moving on.

Gun Laws in Arizona... are we serious?! I just read an article that the Los Angeles Times put up today (Jan 22, 2011). It states that Arizona's gun laws are the most lenient within the United States. As long as you are 18 years old you can purchase a rifle or a shotgun. But wait! You have to be 21 in order to purchase a handgun. WOAH?! How stupid is this nonsense?! Legislation passed some bullshit to where guns are permitted just about anywhere in Arizona. Gee, that is so safe. I really want to be around a bar with a bunch of drunk people carrying guns. And get this, you do not need a permit. Arizona could be the best place for ex-cons, psychos, and murderers. Wait, there is more, guns are allowed at schools! Take the bullets out though, but hey why not bring a gun to school! Show and tell. Come around the classroom kids... woops, didn't know that last bullet was in the chamber, sorry Sally.

I understand "The right to bear arms" as it states in our country's constitution and Arizona's state constitution. This isn't Tombstone folks! I don't know, I guess I'm just paranoid from watching movies like Boys in the Hood or specials on Crips and Bloods. People carry their guns to the bank in the morning, coffee at Starbucks, concerts, school soccer games, I mean I would feel a little unsafe. Check it out... it kind of set me back a little, like, WHAT! http://tinyurl.com/4586dln

I start Grad School this coming Monday... wish me luck!

I SWEAR

As I sit here sipping on Archer Farms Organic Green Tea, which is a Target brand... I had this sudden urge to jump on my blog.

In my email last night I received a link to the Balkan Heritage Field School. I wondered, why a field school? My major is not archaeology or anthropology. However there is a field school in Bulgaria that offers hands on training for 13 days this summer that is complementary to my major as a History student! To restore and create educational assistance with 3 Roman murals that are thousands of years old! 24 students are allowed to come on this wonderful journey and I have sent in my paperwork! I simply cannot wait to join this team of students and be able to TOUCH a Roman mural. It is a dream that a lot of students in this field have, to be able to go into the world and visit ancient sites. To be able to take part in the preservation and restoration will not only be vital in my future career but it is a DREAM!

Directly after Bulgaria I will be on a plane to Australia! Talk about a worldwide summer vacation! This is extraordinary...

Side note,... my boyfriend of a million years, because that's what it feels like --- is an asshole. How many times do I have to hear that everything is my fault because I did not listen to him? I'm sorry, when did you become the Holy Grail of Truth? Do people come to you for advice? Last I checked you claimed you don't like anyone and no one likes you... so why the hell should I listen to what spews out of your mouth? Being blamed for things that I cannot control is like poking me in the back so many times with a stick. I am going to eventually snap and attack you. Constantly calling me a bitch and adding a very derogatory adjective in front of it that rhymes with ducking makes me a little pissed off. Being hung up on all the time because you are finished speaking to me is kind of like stepping on my toes in flip flops, I am now aggravated and upset.

We should seriously consider canceling this lovely relationship and shake hands. Because in all honesty this is not how I am supposed to be treated. RANT OVER

Hot Green Tea Por Favor

Hola people!

You guys ever notice that I use a lot of little Spanish words in my blogs or even when I speak? But you know what? I don't speak Spanish - I know, I know, you thought I did! Trickster! Tricky tricky I am. :)

Okay, side tracked for a second. So, I wanted to dedicate this blog to my favorite hot drink for the last 3 years, GREEN TEA! How many of you like a drink that not only gives you a little burst of energy but also has antioxidants in it? That's right people, I'm talking about the good shit... and it's not drugs or a laxative! It's GREEN TEA!

I drink a lot of it, I have over 10 boxes/containers, I am an addict. I suppose drinking tea is better than smoking pot, speed, or crack (crack is whack). Either I am drinking hot green tea, cold shaken Black Tea, iced tea with lemon, or cold green tea fraps...... always in the tea. How typically Asian of me! LOL! Okay, so the TOP 5 green teas that I absolutely LOVE are as follows:

1) The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl, whole leaf-loose! Not only does this tea have a SUPER long ass name, but it is fragrant. It smells like Thailand, jasmine fields, hint of green tea, with a dash of earth. This tea blew my mind, YUM! Expensive though, $20.00 for 4 ounces. The tea leafs and jasmine are rolled into tight little balls that unleash this flavor sensation! It's so damn good! Pretty strong too. Me likey...

2) The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Genmaicha, whole leaf-loose! Again, this company has got it RIGHT! Love this, it is mild, fully of flavor, and it smells like green tea was freshly packaged and sent to your little container. The price is good too, $8.20 for 5 ounces. High Five - it's delicious!

3) Teavana: Gyokuro Genmaicha Green Tea, whole leaf-loose! Holy crap is this good. I mean, really good. It is tied with 2nd and 1st. MMMMMMMM! Expensive! 4 ounces is $24.00, I know, CRAP! But guess what? YUM! It has a really strong scent, sort of nutty.

4) Tazo: Zen Green Tea, tea bags! This is pretty good and reasonable. Target sometimes has a box of this on sale for $6.99, normally a box of 20 bags is $15.00. It smells divine and tastes pretty good. High five to a cheaper tea!

5) Bigelow: Green Tea, tea bags! Well this tea is not AS good as all the above, however it is cheap, pretty tasty, and worth it! For a box of 28 bags, it runs $4.99.

So there you have it. I'm lame right now and felt that I had to dedicate tonight's or this mornings blog to green tea. I am apologizing right now if this bored you to tears.... to further the embarrassment, below is pictures that I took of myself a few minutes ago drinking my Genmaicha Green Tea! Yummmmmmmmmm...

XOXOXOXOXOXXO
